HTC “Flyer” tablet to be released by TELUS

HTC was rumoured to be releasing a tablet and today they have officially announced the “Flyer”. In their official press release they stated that the “HTC Flyer will be available to customers globally during Q2 2011″… but thanks to one of our tipsters we’ve been informed that this will be released by TELUS in the coming months. No word on specific dates or prices… just that it’s coming soon.
The Flyer has a aluminum unibody and weighs in at 415 grams with the 4,000 mAh battery, a 7-inch touchscreen display (resolution of 1024×600), 1.5GHz Qualcomm single-core processor that runs Android 2.4 Gingerbread with “an all-new HTC Sense user experience that has been reimagined for the tablets” (will be upgraded to 3.0 soon after launch). Part of the new HTC Sense is the 3D home screen and the ability to use a stylus for their “Scribe Technology”. HTC says “people can rediscover the natural act of writing” which allows you to “take notes, sign contracts, draw pictures, or even write on a web page or photo”… then sync them wirelessly to Evernote.
Other specs of the Flyer have it with overall dimensions of 195.4x122x13.2mm, 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth, WiFi, microUSB port, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot.
We’ll have more info soon.
